Hi Everyone,
Another great quilt meeting --

Marja, Cathy, Gayle, and Eddie brought gorgeous quilts to show
off, and Marilyn brought lovely bags (made for her lucky
nieces.).
The group chose the fabrics to use for Sandra's teaching
project, and most (?) of the runner was completed at the
meeting. (Those wanting to continue working on it before the
next meeting should contact Sandra....)
Marja brought the Florenceville "heritage" quilt, and Marilyn
suggested that we contact Mrs. Martinson in Glassville to see if
she knew the quilt's history. (Mrs Martinson was not aware of
the Florenceville quilt, but knew of two other "signature"
quilts: one at the Glassville United Church and one that she
herself has, which her father won in a raffle. She has the key
to the church and can arrange for us to see both of these
historic quilts.)
Eddie single-handedly, and Sandra with much help from
doll-makers at the Florenceville Elemantary School, have made
about 80 dolls for pediatric patients at the Chalmers Hospital
in Fredericton. When we have supplied the hospital with 100
dolls, their doll needs will be met for this year. ( If the
group would like to take on another project, please bring ideas
--)
Thanks to Gail for delicious ginger cookies!
Our
next meeting is May 21, the group's one-year anniversary.
Please email if you'd be willing to bring snacks, or any other
festive contribution!
See you then!
